Charles van Geert Nursery Catalogue, 1845, p.1: Beautiful imbricated form, veined salmon pink like copper—then in his Annotations, 1848 he has: Imbricated glowing red, markedly blotched with white. Apparently it became virus variegated. Orthographic variant: ‘Ammiraglio Nelson’. Originated in England.
