This 8-year-old C. japonica chance seedling first bloomed in 2009. It was originated by Steve and Gayle Lawrence of Tallahassee, Florida and registered by Randolph Maphis of Tallahassee, Florida and propagated by Randolph Maphis and Steve Lawrence. Bloom: The medium sized 8.9cm x 3.2cm formal double form flower is dark red. It is a profuse bloomer that has consistent form and falls in one piece. Plant: The plant habit is upright and spreading. The growth rate is vigorous. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses. Leaf: The medium green leaves average 12.7cm x 7cm with low serration. Bloom season: Early.
