Pitkin, 1966, SCCS, The Camellia Review, vol.27, No.3, p.15: Although of unknown parentage, apparently has Daikagura in it makeup. Its form is similar and blooming season the same. It is a loose to tight peony form, with very large petals, and its deep rose colour is brighter than ‘Daikagura Red’, (Benidaikagura) and is larger by 1 cm. Its growth is average, dense and well branched. Originated by C.D. Cothran, Upland, California, USA.
