» English Description

A.J., “Camellia Culture”, 1866, Gardeners’ Chronicle, 3264:876: This is a Scottish seedling, raised by Mr Turnbull of Bothwell Castle, Scotland. It has much the same character as the Duchess of Buccleugh. In fact they are all but identical. A late flowerer. It is a ruby red. In depth and outline it is similar to Feastii. There are an enormous number of petals which expand right to the centre.
