American Camellia Yearbook, 1958, p.286, Reg. No.343: A 10 year old chance seedling, originated by Mrs W.J. Beasly, South Carolina, USA. The deep red flowers, 11 cm across and 6 cm deep, resemble Debutante in form and have 42 wide petals, folded, giving a loose, peony look, with 8-10 petaloids and short stamens intermingled. Flowers mid-season to late.
