Encyclopedia of Camellias in Colour, 1972, vol.II, p.170, pl.427; Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1979, Senchinshū, p.94 & p.229: A very pale pink, semi-double to open peony form bloom, with large outer petals intermixed with greenish-yellow stamens. Blooms early to mid-season. For colour photo see p.366, Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka. Leaves, pale yellowish green, elliptic, small to medium size, finely serrate. Originated in Kurume, Fuku’oka Prefecture, Japan by Senkaen, Kurumeshi. This cultivar is a sister seedling to Gyōzan.
