Lemaire, 1866, L’Illustation Horticole, XIII, pl.473: The camellia Clodia was obtained as a seedling from Italy. The flower is of the largest size, of a deep cochineal pink, ornamented occasionally with vague, whitish streaks and formed of numerous petals, more or less rounded, bilobate, symetrically imbricated and netted with veins of intense rose. The centre is rose formed, compact, elevated with small pointed petals.
