International Camellia Journal 37, with colour photo on p. 129. Reg. No. 56. Open pollinated seedling of C. pitardii var. yunnanica. Originated by Peter Fischer, Wingst, Germany. First flowered 1985 at circa 6 years, a dense upright shrub of medium growth rate. Higly floriferous early-late season. Blooms variable in colour pink shaded from RHS Colour Chart Red 55C through 55D. Single/ semi-double 3 cm x 7.5 cm. Considered as a hardy garden plant in Germany (parent sourced from an altitude of 1,200 metres. ) Named for Dagmar Berghoff, a well-known German actress and newscaster. A multiple-award winning plant, including a Gold Medal at the 1995 German national Bundesgardenschau.
