Tsubaki; Yokoyama et al. 1975, Gendai Tsubaki Meikan, p.154, our photo; Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1979, Senchinshū, p.94, Colour photo, p.229, description: A soft pink semi-double, 9-10 cm across, 4 rows of 20 guard petals, transparent and with creped margins; a small column of light yellow stamens. Leaves, thick, lanceolate-elliptic with long acuminated apex and shallow serrations. Originated in Japan. Its old name was ‘Chūbu-hanafūki’. Originated and named by Minoru Satō in 1970.
