American Camellia Yearbook, 1973, p.128, Reg. No.1178: A 6 year hybrid cross, Fluted Orchid x Marjorie Magnificent, that first bloomed 1969; originated by Dr John D. Lawson, Antioch, Georgia, USA. Plant growth is upright, open and medium in rate with dark green leaves, 9.5 cm long x 5 cm wide. The semi-double bloom is a strong purplish pink (Nickerson fan 7.5 RP7/10) with yellow anthers. It measures 12.5 cm across and 6 cm deep with 9 centre petals and 9 outer petals. It has three or more petaloids and blooms mid-season. The petals are edged with a white line and are crinkled.
