Dr. Edward Porubsky (C.  japonica), ACS, Reg. No.2546.  American Camellia Yearbook, 2001, p94, color photo p.c13. This 12-year-old chance C. japonica: seedling first bloomed in 1994 and was originated by Jack Mandarich of Salinas,, CA and propagated by Hulyn Smith of Valdosta, GA. Bloom: This pink peony form has golden anthers and pink filaments, Long-lasting blooms show consistent form with heavy petal texture and measure 5 x 2 inches and 6 x 3 inches treated. Plants: The plant is upright with vigorous growth with landscape possibilities. It blooms in midseason and flowers fall in one piece. Leaf: Dark green leaves are 4 x 2 inches.
