Dr. J. C. Raulston (C. japonica) ACS, Reg. No.2473. American Camellia Yearbook, 1998, p2, with color photo in color inset. 3. A very large, bright red to red orange, anemone form C. japonica chance seedling, mid-season to late. Originated and propagated by Bond Nursery Corp., Dallas, TX. The 14-year-old seedling first bloomed in 1987. Average size flower, untreated, is 5-114" wide and 1-1/2" deep with 14 petals, 16 petaloids, yellow anthers and filaments. Average size flower, treated, is 6" wide and 1-3/4" deep with 16 petals and 18.
