Tiger Eyes

Tiger Eyes     (C. japonica)   Registered in 2020. ACS Registration #3187. This at least 40 year-old C. japonica chance seedling first bloomed in 1980. It was originated by Tom Corley of Auburn, Alabama and registered by Auburn-Opelika Men's Camellia Club of Auburn, Alabama and propagated by County Line Nursery of Byron, Georgia, USA. 【Bloom】 The miniature sized (4.4cm - 5.7cm) x1.9cm formal double form flower is red with some black edging on petals at times. This cultivar is a profuse bloomer, falls in one piece, is long lasting, has heavy petal texture and has consistent form. 【Plant】 The plant habit is upright and spreading. The growth rate is average. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition. 【Leaf】 The medium green leaves average 8.9cm x 4.1cm with low serration. 【Bloom season】 Early to midseason.
