Xiangfei

Xiangfei (C. sasanqua). China Regn. #2020-322. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2020, No.24, p.42.. This cultivar was bred by Wang Xiangnan Chen Yongzhong and Chen Longsheng et al. of Hunan Academy of Forestry, and selected from the natural seedlings of Camellia sasaqua. Seeds were collected in October 2011, seedlings were sown in spring 2012 to cultivate seedlings. In spring 2015, the seedlings were planted in the germplasm resource nursery. Flowering was observed for the first time in December 2016. At the end of 2017, the height of the seedlings was 1.7m. The flower is pink, pan-purple tone, aromatic, semi-double to loose peony, medium to large flower, flower diameter 9.0～10.5cm, petals 14-21, outer large petals 2-3 rounds, petals obovate, slightly Wrinkled, concave at the apex, partial petalization of stamens in the center of the flower, yellow stamens, scattered or clustered, deeply parted styles, hairy ovary, strong, dense flowers. The leaves are medium green, leathery, bright, elliptical, small, and wedge-shaped at the base. The leaves are 5-7cm long and 2-3cm wide, with shallow and obtuse teeth. The plant stands upright and grows vigorously. Flowering from November to late January of the following year.

湘妃 Camellia sasanqua 'Xiangfei' 中国茶花登录号：2020-322。《中国花卉园艺》2020年第24期42页。该品种由湖南省林业科学院王湘南、陈永忠、陈隆升等培育，系茶梅自然杂交实生后代中选育。2011年10月采种，2012年春播种培育实生苗，2015年春将苗木地栽于种质资源圃茶梅子代观测区，2016年12月首次观测到开花，2017年底调查苗木植株高1.7m。花朵粉红色，泛紫色调，具芳香，半重瓣型至松散牡丹型，中～大型花，花径9.0～10.5cm，花瓣14～21枚，外部大花瓣2-3轮，花瓣倒卵形，微皱，先端内凹，花心雄蕊部分瓣化，雄蕊黄色，散生或簇生，花柱深裂，子房被毛，能结实，花朵稠密。叶片中等绿色，革质，光亮，椭圆形，较小，基部楔形，叶长5～7cm，宽2～3cm，叶齿浅钝。植株直立，生长旺盛。花期11月至翌年1月下旬。
