Albert Raymond. (C. sasanqua). Australian Regn. No. 563. Applicant and originator, Albert Raymond and Gwenda Norris, 3 Timbertop Crt., Capalaba, Qld, 4157. A chance seedling that first flowered in 1993. A semi-double deep pink flower of 16 petals and a few petaloids, with purple tonings on the edges of the petals, which are 100 mm x 25 mm. Flowers floriferously early to mid-season, on an upright, spreading plant. Leaves dark green, glossy, elongated and finely serrated, 50 mm x 20 mm. Flowers shatter when spent. Good texture and unusual depth of colour. Application received from Queensland Camellia Society Inc., on 14 July 2005.
