ACS Registration #2990. The Camellia Journal,71(3):28 with name and color photo. American Camellia Yearbook, 2016, p. 127 with color photo and description. This 8-year-old C. japonica chance seedling first bloomed in 2011. It was originated, registered and propagated by Vernon Howell of Lucedale, Mississippi, USA. Bloom: The medium sized 10.1cm x 5.1cm semi-double to loose peony form flower is rose red with white variegation. It has yellow anthers and white filaments. The bloom has consistent form with heavy petal texture, is long lasting and falls in one piece. The bloom has mottled variegation. Plant: The plant habit is upright. The growth rate is average. The plant is suitable for landscaping use. Leaf: The dark green leaves have medium serration and average 7.6cm x 5.1cm. Bloom season: Early to late.
