Asagiri. (C. sinensis). Registered in 1954. Selected from seedlings of original Japanese tea in Uji. Use for Gyokuro, powdered green tea. Kyoto Pref.

[History] In 1939, it was selected from the traditional seed tea affairs at the Kyoto Prefectural Tea Research Institute's Kiba Hata test site. It was registered as agriculture and forestry in 1954 after a candidate comparison test of tree performance (strain comparison test). The old strain name is "Kyoken 113". As the name says in the Tale of Genji, "There is a fog in Uji, and in the 1000 series collection, there is "Ashishirogi of the Seto, which is fluttering in the river fog of Uji in the morning," , Given that it is close to the image of Uji.

[Early-earing] A sprout and plucking period is a mesozoic species that is about 3 days earlier than'Yabukita'.

[Morphological characteristics] The tree shape is medium, and the tree vigor and strain are medium. The shoot length is rather short. The shape, size, thickness, color, and gloss of the new leaf are oval, medium, medium, light green, and medium. The mature leaves are slightly green and have a glossy finish.

【育成者】京都府立茶業研究所

【来歴】1939年に,京都府立茶業研究所木幡試験地の在来種茶困から選抜された。候補原樹性能比較試驗(系統比較試験)を経て,1954年に農林登録された。旧系統名は京研113。名称は,源氏物語に記される「宇治には霧が漂いよまた,千載集には「朝ぼらけ宇治の川霧たえだえにあらはれわたる瀬々の網代木」(権中納言定頼)とあるように,宇治のイメージに密接であることから与えられた。

【早晩性】萌芽および摘採期はやぶきたより3日程度早い中生種。

【形態的特性】樹姿は中間,樹勢および株張りは中。摘芽長はやや短い。新葉の形,大きさ.厚さ,色,光沢はそれぞれ.楕円,中,中,淡緑,中である。成葉はやや色が濃緑色でつやをびるよ

【挿し木発根性】やや劣る。

【初期生育の良否】初期生育はやや劣り夏季の干ばつに弱いことから,敷わらなど周到な管理を要する。

【幼木の仕立て法】幼木期に深い剪枝を行なうと,樹勢が弱く,分枝が少なくなる傾向がある。したがって,定植当年2年目は剪枝をひかえ,その後も徒長枝を切り戻しながら,生育をよく観察して適宜行なう。幼木期に限らず,できるだけ高く仕立てるとよい

【収量性】収量性はやや少中で,‘やぶきた’に比ベ劣る。

【品質】玉露として優良で,色沢と香気,滋味に優れるe

【耐寒性】中やや強。

【耐病虫性】炭疽病にやや弱。

【栽培適地】萌芽期がやや早いため,晩霜による被害リスクの少ない地域に適する。

【加工特性】手摘みの覆下茶種に適する。
