Ashton’s Cameo. (C.hybrid). ACS, The Camellia Journal, Dec. 2004, p.24 with colour photo; Reg. No.2628. A cross of C.hybrid Winter’s Charm x C.oleifera Plain Jane, first flowered in 1994, introduced in 2006. Flower is 8.2 cm across, and is a deep lavender peony form with neon colour quality, 10 petals and 12 petaloids. Cold hardy to -10º F (-23.3℃). Originated by Dr William L. Ackerman, Ashton, Md, USA. Flowers early. American Camellia Yearbook, 2004, p.90, colour photo p.c1. Plant has average growth rate. Dark green leaves are 7.5 cm long x 3.5 cm wide.
