Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.97, colour photo, p.96, description: Medium size, soft pink, saucer-shaped single of 5 large, round petals, edges a little irregular. Stamens numerous, in a large, spreading cluster, fila­ments creamy, joined for lower third, anthers dull yellow. Leaves dark green elliptic, apices acute, margins serrate. Blooms early to mid-season. Originated in Ōsaka Prefecture, Japan. A seedling of ‘Engei-tarō’an’.
