Satō, 1975, Chūbu no Tsubaki, colour photo and description, p.23: Tubular single, deep pink fading to whitish pink at petal base; 7-8 cm across, mid-season blooming and central stamen column. Early blooming. Leaves, dark, lustrous green, broad­elliptical, apex acute, base obtuse, finely serrate, prominent venation. Originated in Inazawa­shi, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
