Barney's Eddie (C. japonica). Published in American Camellia Yearbook 2020, p.77 with 1 color photo. Registered in 2020. ACS Registration #3171. This 20 year-old C. japonica chance seedling first bloomed in 2015. It was originated and propagated by N. C. Barnard of St. Elmo, Alabama and registered by Laura Barnard of St. Elmo, Alabama, USA. 【Bloom】 The large sized 12.1cm x 7.6cm loose peony to rose form double flower is burgundy with yellow anthers. This cultivar is a profuse bloomer, falls in one piece, is long lasting and has consistent form. 【Plant】 The plant habit is upright and dense. The growth rate is slow. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition. 【Leaf】 The dark green leaves average 11.4cm x 5.1cm with low serration. 【Bloom season】 Midseason to late.
