American Camellia Yearbook, 1973, p.188, Reg. No.1247: A 12 year old chance seedling that first bloomed 1967; originated by J.M. Haynie, Alabama, USA. Plant growth is upright, average in rate, medium, open with dark green leaves, 9 cm x 4 cm. Loose, peony flowers, up to 12 cm across and 6.5 cm deep, rich red with yellow anthers and pink filaments; petals of medium texture, some folded. Mid to late season bloomer.
