Published in Camelia, Sociedad Española de la Camelia,
No.45, december 2025, p.82, with color photo. European Reg. No 220. Originated
in 2002 by Begoña Franco at Finca Chazo, Boiro, A Coruña (Spain), from a seed
of Camellia reticulata. The cultivar is named in honor of the daughter of the
obtainer. It has been exhibited for several years and awarded at Camellia
Exhibitions in Galicia, and is included in the book Camelias no Barbanza
(Concello de Boiro), published in 2008. FLOWER:
large to very large size, 12.5–15 cm in diameter and 6.5–9 cm depth;
semidouble, rose form; pink 62C (RHS Colour Chart); external petals homogeneous
or diffused toward the margin, with marked venation; internal petals maculated
or white-striped; 20–30 petals, external ones oval and internal ones irregular,
with cordate margin, incised at one or several points or waved; scarce
petaloids, up to 5, light pink 62C (RHS) or maculated or white-striped; 70–120
stamens arranged in fascicles with tubular disposition, with cream-colored
filaments. LEAVES: medium to large
size, 8–13 cm in length and 6–7.5 cm in width; medium green, dull;
elliptic-ovate shape; serrate margin; pointed to acuminate apex and rounded to
acute base. PLANT: shrub with medium
to fast growth rate and semi-open habit. Late flowering season, from February
to May.
