Betty Horton. (C. japonica). Registered in 2019. ACS Registration #3144. This 11-year-old C. japonica chance seedling first bloomed in 2014. It was originated, registered and propagated by Pat B. Johnson of Cairo, Georgia. Bloom: The large sized 11.4 cm x 3.8 cm formal double form flower is light mauve pink shading to red on the outer petals. This profuse bloomer is long lasting with heavy petal texture, consistent form and falls in one piece. Plant: The plant habit is upright and dense. The growth rate is slow. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses. Leaf: The dark green leaves average 11.4cm x 5.1 cm with low serration. Bloom season: Early to midseason.
