American Camellia Yearbook, 1981, p.95, Reg. No.1713: A very large, red, semi-double C.reticulata hybrid of ‘Crimson Robe’, (Dataohong) blooming mid-season to late. Originated by Frank Pursel, Oakland, California, USA. The 5 year old seedling first flowered 1978. Average flower size 15 cm across by 5 cm deep. Plant growth is upright with average density and rapid rate, with dark green, heavily serrated leaves 12 cm long x 7 cm wide.
