Brenda Beach (C. japonica) ACS, Reg. No.2368. American Camellia Yearbook, 1996,
p1. with color photo in color inset 2. A large, blush pink mottled with
shades of medium pink, semidouble C. japonica chance seedling,
mid-season to late. Originated and propagated by Miles A. Beach, Mt. Pleasant,
sc. The 9-year-old seedling first bloomed in 1991. Average size flower,
untreated, is 5" wide and 1 1/2" deep with 18 petals and 8 petaloids.
Chemically treated bloom measures 6" wide and 1 1/2" deep with 18
petals and 10 petaloid. Plant growth is upright and Vigorous with dark green
leaves measuring 3 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide.
