Caidan. (Colourful Red), (C.japonica), China Regn No.53, China Flowers & Horticulture, Aug. 2009, No.16, p.50 with colour photo; A fourth sport of tranditional Chinese cultivar Chidan (see also Liujiao Dahong, Fendan and Yudan). Flowers formal double, sometimes hexagonal, deep pink with darker pink and red stripes in varying widths. Medium size, 8-10 cm diameter. About 70 petals, thick and shiny, apices round and shallowly concave. Late flowering. Plant average growth rate. Leaves pale green, 9.5 cm x 3.5 cm, apices acuminate, buds pale yellow.

彩丹 Caidan 中国茶花品种登录第53号。《中国花卉园艺》2009年，第16期。由莫闲网培育，何航宇命名。‘彩丹’是‘粉丹’的芽变品种，植株开张，生长中等。叶片淡绿色，先端渐尖，长9.5cm，宽3.5cm，叶芽淡黄色。花完全重瓣型，深粉红，洒粗细不等的红色条纹，多呈六角状。中型花，花径8～10cm，花瓣质厚、端圆、富有光泽，排列整齐有序，先端微凹，总数达70枚左右。花期为3～4月。‘彩丹’属红山茶（C.japonica）品系，是继‘赤丹’、‘粉丹’、‘玉丹’、‘鸳鸯凤冠’4个芽变品种之后，从‘粉丹’品种芽变获得的又一新品种，开花整齐美丽，花色为深粉红，花瓣具粗细不等的红色条纹，易于辨认。
