Caroline Simpson.  (C. japonica).  Australian Regn. No. 463.  Applicant: Mrs Caroline Simpson, 56 Fairfax Road, Bellevue Hill, N.S.W., 2023. Originator: Professor E G Waterhouse, late of 17 McIntosh Street, Gordon N.S.W. 2072.  Sport of C. japonica 'Lady Vansittart White'. First flowered 1970 and remained true since. A single flower of 9 petals, broadly white, centre heavily and extensively veined pink to the centre of each petal, RHS 65A, 100 mm x 55 mm. Flowers over a long season on a medium spreading bush. Leaves deep-green, glossy, flat, acute apex, elongate, occasionally oval, serrate margins, 80 mm x 55 mm. Flowers shed whole, petals occasionally fluted. Application received 17/8/1996 from N.S.W. Camellia Society (Inc). Propagation: Colonial Cottage Nursery Pty Ltd, Dural, N.S.W., 2158.
