Cerise Beauty. (C.hybrid), Cam. Aust. Camellia News, No.196, Spring/Summer2014, p.11, Regn No.685. Believed to have originated pre 1992 by G.W. Hooper athis Camellia Vale Nursery. Listed without description in 1997, as a hybrid, inCowell’s Camellia Nursery, Theresa Park. Parentage unknown. A floriferous plantwith medium growth rate and dense upright growth. Leaves elliptic, glossy,mid-green, about 6 cm x 4.5 cm with serrate margins and a 1 cm petiole. Morethan usually sun-tolerant. Blooms vary from tight to looser formal doubles, orrose form double, colour cerise tocherry red (RHSCC 64B). Formal doubles are 8-10 cm diameter, 2-4 cm high, withfrom 50 to 130 petals. Blooms early to late, and flowers fall whole.
