Chūbu-kanbotan. (Winter Peony from Chūbu). (C.hiemalis). Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.320. English translation p.242. Medium size, deep peach red, double. Flowers early to midseason. Leaves narrowly elliptic, somewhat small. Spreading, vigorous growth. Origin unknown, has been sold in Shizimu City on the northern bank of Lake Hamana as ‘Benibotan’. Considered to be a natural seedling of Shishigashira. From Shizuoka Prefecture.
