» English Description

Tregrehan Camellia Nursery Catalogue, 1973: Medium semi-double, white, open growth. Gallagher, 1976, American Camellia Yearbook, p.123: “Amongst her next batch of seedlings resulting from a cross between C.x williamsii J.C. Williams and C.japonica Marjorie Magnificent, a pure white, semi-double camellia emerged. As one of the local resources is China Clay, the name stuck”. It received an ‘Award of Merit’ from the RHS in 1976. For colour photo see facing p.113 of above Yearbook. Originated by Miss Gillian Carlyon, Cornwall, England. This cultivar was awarded  as an AGM (Award of Garden Merit) plant by the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993 at H5 rate (hardy: cold winter; -15°C to -10°C).

高继银、苏玉华、胡羡聪,2007. 《国内外茶花名种识别与欣赏》,第286页。英国Gillian Carlyon女士培育,系杂女种‘威廉姆斯山茶’(J.C.Williams)与红山茶‘玛焦’(Majiorie Magnificent)品种之间的杂交种。花纯白色,半重瓣型,中型花,花瓣倒卵圆形,平铺,排列整齐,中部少量小花瓣与雄蕊混生,花朵稠密。叶片浓绿色,椭圆形,植株开张,生长旺盛。花期中。
