Berlèse, 1837, Monographie, ed.1, p.107, (as ‘Chine Large’, p.130): Leaves, long, narrow, reflexed, of a green similar to Rubra Plena; flower about 7.5 cm across, full, of the form of the preceding (China) and a similar colour, petals of the interior, imbricated, entire, rounded at the apex, borders recurved, a few small petals in the centre, unequal, slightly spotted white. Originated in England.
