American Camellia Yearbook,1960, p.195, Reg. No.458: A 14 year old chance seedling, originated by Jon C. Campbell, Natchez, Mississippi, USA, that first bloomed in 1949. Plant growth is of average density and medium rapid rate. Dark green leaves average 12.5 cm long by 6 cm wide. The dark red, single blooms are 10 cm across and 2 cm deep with 6 petals and creamy-red stamens. Flowers early to mid-season.
