Fruitland Nursery Catalogue, 1940-1941: Pink. Medium size, semi-double. Vigorous, upright growth. See Hertrich, 1954, Camellias in the Huntington Gardens, vol.I, p.82, 85, black and white photo: Flowers, semi-double, Rose-Pink, 427/2 and /3, to 10 cm across x 4 cm deep. Petals about 12, broad at apices, tapering to heft, folded and wavy, multiple irregular notching, firm substance. In the centre of the flower is a glistening burst of stiff, 3 cm long, white stamens tipped with golden anthers. Mid-season to late flowering. Leaves, broad-ellip­tic, dark, glossy green, 8-9 cm long by 4.5 cm wide, coarsely serrate, apices variable, long to short pointed.
