Originator and Applicant: originated & grown on by Pam Watson, 12 Knights Rd., Galston, NSW, 2159, Australia, (named after Alan Watson’s ‘class of ’43’ and his love of dark red formal doubles).  First flowered in 1995 and has produced consistently ‘true to-variety’ blooms for 22 years.  A chance sasanqua seedling with neither parent known for certain.  Size, small to medium, formal double, slow bushy grower up to 2  m, dark green glossy leaves, sun hardy, colour cerise.  Propagators: Pam Watson & Craig Carroll of Carroll’s Country Gardens & Nursery, 60 Bells Line of Road, Mount Tomah, NSW, 2758, Australia.
