Dafu Dagui

Dafu Dagui (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiafeng Relang'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.245. HAR-02-20., a cross seedling (DXFRL-No.41) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiafeng Relang'. When just opening, the flowers are peach red, then gradually change into deep pink or light red after 3-4 days, fading to pink at the top of the petals, peony form, large to very large size, 12.0- 13.5cm across and 6.5-7.0cm deep with 37-41 petals arranged loosely in over 6 rows, petals semi- erected, long obovate, petal edges rolled outward, which are radial, flowers fall whole. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, narrow-long elliptic, urgently cuneate at the base, margins nearly smooth, lateral veins green and raised. Plant upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early- summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Big Happiness & Big Millionaire”.

大福大贵 Camellia ‘Dafu Dagui’ 。刘信凯、钟乃盛、柯欢、武艳芳主编，2023，《第二部四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》，浙江科学技术出版社，第245页。 HAR-02-20.杂交组合：杜鹃红山茶×杜鹃红山茶F1代新品种‘夏日热浪’，杂交苗编号：DXFRL-No.41。刚开放时，花朵桃红色，3-4天后逐渐变为深粉红色或淡红色，渐向花瓣先端呈粉红色，牡丹型，大型至巨型花，花径12.0-13.5cm，花朵厚6.5-7.0cm，花瓣37-41枚，呈6轮以上松散排列，花瓣多为半直立状态，长倒卵形，边缘两侧外卷，呈辐射状，花朵整朵掉落。叶片浓绿色，叶背面灰绿色，厚革质，狭长椭圆形，长9.5-10.5cm，宽3.5-4.0cm，基部急楔形，边缘近光滑，侧脉绿色，略突起。植株立性，枝叶稠密，生长旺盛。夏初始花，秋、冬季盛花，春季零星开花。
