Dan's Alice. (C. sasanqua). C. Aust, Camellia News, No. 183, Winter 2010, p.9 with colour photo; Regn No.627; A chance seedling with medium, upright, bushy growth. Elliptic leaves. New growth bronze, turning dark green, almost black, finally maturing to very dark green. Flowers early to late sasanqua season. Perfumed, small, single, magenta blooms have a spreading ring of cream stamens. Broad petals are also crinkled and notched. Originated by Kurt Boesen, Dancraft Nurseries, Wilberforce, NSW, Aust.
