American Camellia Yearbook, 1983, p.158, Reg. No.1908: A very large, red, semi-double C.reticulata hybrid (‘Crimson Robe’ (Dataohong) x Jean Pursel), early to mid-season blooming; originated by Frank Pursel, Oakland, California, USA. The 8 year old seedling first flowered in 1982. Average size, 15 cm across x 7.5 cm deep. Plant growth is upright and medium in rate with dark green leaves, 11 cm long x 6 cm wide.
