Journal of the RHS, vol.17, p.xli, Feb. 13th 1874. First Class Certificate to ‘Exquisite’, (Salmon red splashed white) from W.Paul and Son. The Gardening World,1893-1894,Vol.X,p.406: "A pot palnt of this variety, about 3ft. high, was exhibited Messrs Wm, Paul & Son. The flowers were of grest size with regularly imbricated petals of a beautiful rosy pink, often irregularly splashed with white. A First-class Certificate was accorded the variety".
