Fenhonglian

Fenhonglian (C. reticulata). China Regn. #2008-023. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2008, No.4, p.47. This cultivar was selected from the seedlings of Camellia reticulata ‘Damanao’ pollinated by natural. Flowers rose double form, 13-14 cm in diameter, spinel red with white dots. Petals 30-33 in 5-6 whorls, flat, most stamen change to petals but a few stay in the centre of flower. Leaves long elliptic, apices acuminate, bases broad cuneate, 10.3-14.0 cm long and 4.8-6.7 cm wide. The flowering season is from January to March. The cultivar’s name means “Pink Lotus”.

粉红莲 Camellia reticulata‘ Fenhonglian’ 中国登录号：2008-023，《中国花卉园艺》2008年第4期47页。由夏丽芳命名，中国科学院昆明植物研究所培育并登录。该品种为云南山茶品种‘大玛瑙’自然授粉后代中培育而成，与‘彩云’为姊妹关系。花玫瑰重瓣型，银红色（R.H.S.C.C.57D），花瓣30-33片，5-6轮排列，花瓣上略带白色斑点，花径13-14厘米，花瓣平，雄蕊多数变花瓣，仅留少数于花心。叶长椭圆形，先端渐尖，基部宽楔形，长10.3-14厘米，宽4.8-6.7厘米，花期1-3月。识别点：本品种从‘大玛瑙’自然杂交种子实生苗中选育，花色浅桃红，玫瑰重瓣型，花瓣上略带白色斑块或斑点。
