Fenmengmei

Fenmengmei (C. amplexicaulis × C. japonica 'Show Time'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.476. HB-29-3., a cross seedling (BHZSJ-No.6+7) of C. amplexicaulis × C. japonica 'Show Time'. Flowers light pink to pink, semi-double form, medium size, 7.5-8.7cm across and 3.7-4.2cm deep with about 15 large petals arranged in 2 rows, stamens united at the base, bloom dense. Leaves green, heavy leathery, long elliptic, midribs and lateral veins sunken, margins finely and shallowly serrate. Plant compact, upright and growth vigorous. Blooms from late-autumn to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Pink Maidens”.
