ACRS., 1969, Camellia News, No.36, p.14, Reg. No.107: Originated by H.P. Matthews, Victoria, Australia. Planted from seed received from USA; parents unknown. First bloomed 1967. The 11-12.5 cm diameter, single, very deep red flowers have bunched, pink anthers and bright yellow pollen. Blooms early to mid-season on a dense, erect plant. Leaves dark green, 10 cm x 5 cm, blunt acute.
