Fushou Baota

Fushou Baota (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiari Diexing'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.390. HAR-23-1., a cross seedling (DDX-No.1) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiari Diexing'. Flowers red in summer and dark red in autumn and winter, occasionally with some white markings, compacted peony form to rose-double form, large to verry large size, 12.0-13.5cm across and 6.5-7.0cm deep with 50-60 large petals arranged in over 8 rows, the flowers usually semi-opened which shaped as a pagoda, petals long obovate, slightly wavy, stamens slightly united at the base, filaments pale red, anthers yellow. Leaves dark green, leathery, elliptic, urgently cuneate at the base, margins nearly smooth. Plant upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms in autumn and winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Happiness & Longevity Pagoda”.

福寿宝塔 Camellia ‘Fushou Baota’ 。刘信凯、钟乃盛、柯欢、武艳芳主编，2023，《第二部四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》，浙江科学技术出版社，第390页。 HAR-23-1.杂交组合：杜鹃红山茶×杜鹃红山茶F1代新品种‘夏日叠星’，杂交苗编号：DDX-No.1。夏季花朵红色，秋冬季节花朵黑红色，偶具白斑，紧实的牡丹型至玫瑰重瓣型，大型至巨型花，花径12.0-13.5cm,花朵厚6.5-7.0cm,大花瓣50-60枚，呈8轮以上排列，多呈半开放状态，呈塔状，花瓣长倒卵形，长6.0cm,宽3.0cm，略波浪状，雄蕊基部略连生，花丝淡红色，花药黄色。叶片浓绿色，叶背面灰绿色，革质，椭圆形，长10.0-11.0cm,宽4.0-4.5cm,基部急楔形，叶缘近光滑。植株立性，枝叶稠密，生长旺盛。夏初始花，秋、冬季盛花，春季零星开花。
