Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.186, colour photo and description: Medium size, deep scarlet, campanulate single with 5 wide, rounded, overlapping petals, and a central column of stamens with yellow anthers. Blooms mid-season to late. Leaves mid-green, ovate, apices blunt acuminate, margins serrate. Originated in Ōzu City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan.
