Hakutei

Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.42, colour photo and description: Medium size, white, saucer-shaped single, with 6 broad, rounded, overlapping petals, and a wide central stamen column with ivory filaments, joined for the lower third, and yellow anthers. Blooms early to mid-season. Leaves deep green, broad-ovate, apices recurved acuminate, margins serrate. Originated in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. A seedling of Seiōbo x Hatsu-arashi-Saga. Named and released by Nobuo Sasai in 1982.
