Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.309 with colour photo; English translation p.217. Medium size, deep pink, single of 5 to 6 petals, each petal curved inward forming a sake-cup shape, apricot stamens. Flowers early. Leaves narrowly elliptic, medium size. Upright, vigorous growth. A new natural seedling of Sakura-fubuki. Originated and named by Minoru Satō. From Niigata Prefecture.
