» English Description

Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.202 with colour photo; English translation p.140 as ‘Hanafūki’. Large, pink semi-double, cupped petals, cylindrical stamen column. Flowers late. Leaves elliptic to obovate, medium size. Spreading, vigorous growth. A natural seedling, originated in Narita, Chiba Prefecture in around 1882. Introduced for the first time in Minagawa’s Chinkashū in 1933. From Chiba to Saitama.
