Satō, 1975, Chūbu no Tsubaki, p.112: A medium size, single of 5-6 large, orbicular petals, red with large white patches. Short, irregular stamen cluster. A different cultivar from the above. A sport of Aya-nishiki. Originated in the Chūbu District, Japan. Named and released by Minoru Satō.
