Flowers early to mid-season. Originated in Takarazuka City, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. Sport of ‘Miyuki-nishiki’, which is a synonym for Tatsuta-nishiki. This was formerly called ‘Hatsu-hinode’ but renamed because of the existence of the same name for another cultivar.
