American Camellia Yearbook, 1955, p.337, Reg. No.238: A 10 year old chance seedling, originated by Mrs J.W. Anderson, Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA, that first flowered 1951. Plant growth is open and rapid in rate with large, dark green leaves, 12 cm long. The pink flowers, 11-15 cm across, are incomplete double, with large petaloids, similar to Gloire de Nantes, with 17-23 petals. Flowers mid-season to late. Sport: Hi-Jinx Variegated. Ortho­graphic error: ‘Hi Jinks’.
